Classical Era (1750-1820)

The classical music compositions listed here are from the period 1750-1820. This assortment of tracks highlights works from Classical Era composers who have only one or two recordings in our library (not enough to give them their own separate category). Major Classical Era composers, like Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert have been given dedicated categories on this site. There are some great soundtrack opportunities here. Boccherini’s Allegretto is about charming as it gets with a light, happy quality. We have licensed the Casta Diva from Bellini’s opera Norma many times. This is an instrumental version of the aria with a violin replacing the famous soprano vocal. Bortnyansky’s O Most Holy Maiden Mary, sung in Russian, by an all-male choir, is perfect as film underscore in scenes that need to immediately set time and place in Moscow or greater Russia. It is a strong, classic soundtrack texture.
