Baroque Era (1600-1750)

This is a small, diverse listing of classical music compositions from 1600-1750. The assortment of tracks highlights works from Baroque composers who have only one or two recordings in our library (not enough to give them their own separate category). Major Baroque Era composers, like Vivaldi, Handel, and Bach, have been given dedicated categories on this site. There are some great soundtrack opportunities here. The Caccini Ave Maria is a beautiful piece that is often performed at weddings. The Sonata Sopra La Monica is a solemn piece evoking solitude and peace. The Torelli Sonata in D creates an eloquent and refined atmosphere and is similar to the PBS Masterpiece Theatre theme.
